Career & Expertise
Jess brings a wealth of experience across CAMHS, children’s services, and transition to adulthood, with a proven ability to manage complex caseloads and deliver high-quality, child-centred care. Jess is recognised for her excellent interpersonal skills, enabling her to build trusting and effective relationships with young people and their families from a wide range of backgrounds.
Having previously worked within a CAMHS duty and assessment team, Jess undertakes triage, comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, and early interventions, using clinical reasoning and evidence-based tools to inform formulation and treatment planning. She also plays a key role on the autism assessment pathway, completing ADOS-2 assessments, developmental histories, and diagnostic formulations within a multidisciplinary team, as well as contributing to ADHD assessments alongside specialist practitioners. Her reports are clear, thorough, and clinically robust, supporting accurate diagnosis and effective care planning.
Jess’s previous experience as a children with disabilities social worker strengthened her expertise in safeguarding, multi-agency working, and supporting children with a wide range of needs, from autism to profound and multiple learning disabilities. She has extensive experience leading multidisciplinary meetings, coordinating care, and undertaking statutory safeguarding work, including Section 47 enquiries and court proceedings. Her earlier role within adult transition services further developed her skills in Care Act and mental capacity assessments, ensuring continuity of support for young people moving into adulthood.
With a strong academic background, including a Master’s degree in Social Work (Distinction) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, Jess also brings a passion for mentoring and developing others. She combines excellent organisational and report writing skills with a reflective, compassionate approach to practice. Her additional training in ADOS-2, DBT, systemic and restorative approaches, and family therapy enhances her ability to provide holistic, evidence-based support to young people and their families.
